Origins
Space Therapy arose from experience in the design field following a graduate degree in architecture from CAP. Disturbing Behavior (2021), a senior year seminar taught by Marc Swackhamer and Sarah Aziz sparked thinking toward different ways to interrupt harmful norms in design and manufacturing toward sustainable alternatives.
Other ideas helped along the way - explore those below:
Plastic Possibilities: Productive, beneficial reuses for plastic
Concept: Impacts of a “plastic” global society are harmful down to biological levels. Meanwhile, plastic is cheap to manufacture and backed by global industries and benefactors. Plastic is here to stay. Plastic Possibilities explores productive, beneficial re-uses for plastic to construct a new narrative by harnessing plastic’s positive properties toward useful, regenerative means.
Plastic benefits: Highly resilient, moldable, recyclable
